SUMIMASEN
It has two meanings, I’m sorry and Thank you.
It is used to express appreciation.
- to boss.
- Someone who have done something I have to do instead of me.
If you write すみません(SUMIMASEN) in Chinese Character (Kanji), it is 済みません(SUMIMASEN).ARIGATO
済む is the same source as 澄む
澄む means Be clear.
ません means NOT.
so it expresses that I don’t feel refreshed.
it origin is 有り難し(ありがたし).It is difficult to distinguish and differentiate these two words if you are not Japanese so I suggest that you can use both.
有る(ARU) means being and exist.
難い(GATAI)means hard and difficult.
ARIGATO means ‘It is so rare and valuable’.
This is a word derived from Buddhism.
For example:
You were lost your pen and you borrowed a pen from your friend(co-worker).
In this case, You can say 'SUMIMASEN・ARIGATO’.
Could you try this?
